Inspired by a visit to the local farmers’ market this weekend, I decided to make one of the easiest and most flavorful no-sugar-added fruit desserts possible.  Perfect on a cool, autumn day, baked apples make the best seasonal treat, especially when combined with dried fruit and nuts.

When cooking apples, be sure to use an apple suitable for baking (Jonathan, Honeycrisp, Granny Smith, Melrose, Winesap, Braeburn, Rome Beauty, Golden Delicious, Gala, etc).

6 medium to large apples, cored
½ cup assorted dried fruit
½ cup chopped nuts
½ tsp cinnamon
½ tsp nutmeg
2 tsp stevia

Heat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix the dried fruit, chopped nuts, and spices together, and fill the cored apples with the mixture.
Bake for 20-30 minutes until the apple is slightly soft.
Allow to cool for 5 minutes and enjoy!
