Homemade Low Sugar Granola

Using simple, natural ingredients you can create a wholesome rendition of your favorite granola (which, with all of its added sugar and preservatives, is probably not as ‘healthy’ as you’d think).  Enjoy over yogurt, warmed with milk, or as a crunchy snack.


4 cups steel-cut oatmeal
1/2 cup flax seed
1/4 cup chia seed
1 cup assorted dried fruit (raisins, cranberries, cherries, apricots, etc.)
1 cup mixed nuts, chopped
1 tbsp pumpkin spice
1tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup olive oil
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup brown sugar stevia mix

Combine all ingredients and transfer to greased baking sheet.  Bake at 350 degrees for 20 mins.  Stir granola and return to oven until golden brown.  Be careful not to burn.
