Native to Southern Africa, devil’s claw derives its name from hook-like appendages that cover the fruit of the plant. The “claws” attach to the fur of passing animals and distribute the seeds far and wide. The root of the plant is actually the part processed for herbal supplements.
Traditionally devil’s claw has been used for supporting joint comfort and health.*
