Leave Fishy Aftertaste & Burps Behind

Krill Oil Plus™ is a high quality, sustainably harvested krill oil, rich in EPA and DHA omega-3 fatty acids. Krill oil omega-3s are attached to phospholipids, which make them more easily absorbed by the body than the triglyceride form of omega-3s found in fish oil11.

Unlike fish oil, krill oil does not leave an aftertaste and it can be stored in a room-temperature environment without risk of oxidation.

Studies show that it only takes 62% as much krill oil as fish oil to achieve the same omega 3 blood levels10 (600 mg Krill Plus = 1000 mg of fish oil).

In addition, krill oil contains a potent natural antioxidant, called astaxanthin, which supports cardiovascular health.

Krill Oil Plus™ is sourced from the purest ocean in the world: the Antarctic. Because krill are at the very bottom of the food chain and live in oceans where there is very limited commercial traffic, there is low risk of toxins or metals associated with consuming krill oil from a trusted source.

Eco-friendly choice – the Vital Plan team selected Krill oil as our omega-3 product with sustainability in mind, as krill is one of earth’s most abundant and sustainable organisms. Maximal krill harvest is predicted to only affect 1% of the total Antarctic supply, and this is continually audited by an independent nonprofit organization that oversees sustainable fishery operations worldwide.

Krill Oil Plus™ is quality tested for purity by an independent third party.

How Krill Oil Plus™ Works

Essential fatty acids (EFAs) are a special group of polyunsaturated fats termed “essential” because they cannot be synthesized by the body and must be obtained from dietary sources. Getting enough EFAs to survive is generally not a problem because they are abundant in the foods we eat, but getting the right ratio of the right types is a different story altogether.

Krill Oil Plus™ provides beneficial omega 3 fatty acids for counterbalancing omega 6 fatty acids found in most other foods. An optimal omega 3 / omega 6 ratio is extremely important for maintaining an optimal balance of chemical messengers in the body called prostaglandins. Omega 3 fatty acids are also important for protecting cell membranes of all the cells in the body from damaging free radicals.

Astaxanthin, a potent antioxidant that gives Krill Oil Plus its red color, enhances its antioxidant properties.

Beyond tissue benefits, krill oil has been associated with supporting cognitive function.

Krill Oil Plus contains:

  • Omega-3 fatty acids, which are important for healthy cell membranes
  • Astaxanthin, which contains antioxidants that support cellular health

As a certified B-Corporation® , Vital Plan is committed to sustainability in all of
our products and decisions. This commitment is why we chose Superba™ Krill
Oil as our omega-3 product. Our supplier follows strictly controlled fishing
practices. Superba™ is the only krill oil certified as sustainable and 100%
traceable by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC).

If you would like to see where this catch came from, check out the map below:

GPS Coordinates: 60° 20’ S, 47° 10’ W

Not only are sustainable fishing practices beneficial for the environment, but
they are beneficial for you as well! Superba is harvested using a specially
designed Eco-Harvesting® system, that safely releases anything other than
Euphausia superba. The system also keeps the krill underwater as it is taken into
the factory vessel for immediate processing, ensuring the freshest product! This
process differs from traditional krill fishing practices, where the catch is pulled
out of the water and emptied into holding tanks before processing. This
traditional method can cause the krill’s own enzymes to degrade product quality.

Krill’s omega-3s are better recognized by the body because they are attached to phospholipids resulting in higher cellular incorporation, as opposed to triglyceride-based omega-3s that need to be converted by the liver, like those in fish oil and algae.
