How does my body produce energy?

Energy is generated within the mitochondria, which are microscopic football-shaped structures inside cells.

Mitochondria are the power source for all cellular functions; imagine miniature red-hot power generators, with sparks flying. Food molecules fuel the reactions, and oxygen adds an explosion of energy and free radicals to the process.

For mitochondria, generating energy is self-destructive. Mitochondria receive the brunt of free radical damage, which can ultimately lead to compromised energy production and energy loss.

Free radicals radiate outward from mitochondria and have potential to damage all the cellular structures, including DNA. Free-radicals unchecked by enough antioxidants inhibits cellular function, which can lead to premature cell death or mutation. Free radical damage (oxidative stress) is a primary cause of aging and disease processes.

Free radicals, however, are not the only threat—stealth microbes also readily scavenge mitochondria as an energy source.

While cells do generate antioxidants, they don’t generate enough to combat the effects of oxidative stress and other factors. Because of this, cells are heavily dependent on external sources of antioxidants for limiting cellular damage and protecting mitochondria.

Natural ingredients to protect & improve your energy:

mitochondrial support glutathione

Setria™ Glutathione
Glutathione is an essential antioxidant that supports mitochondrial resistance free radical damage during the generation of energy. Glutathione is also an essential substance for supporting the liver in detoxification. A healthy diet provides additional antioxidant support, but supplementation can also play a vital role.

Setria™ Glutathione is a pure, allergen-free form that is manufactured through a proprietary fermentation process. Its three primary benefits are: antioxidant protection, detoxification, and immune support.[1]

Setria™ Glutathione supports detoxification of the liver and intestinal system.

Setria™ Glutathione supports the white blood cells of the immune system (including T cell lymphocytes), which is the body’s frontline of defense. Setria™ also supports the immune cells, which have a natural killing ability.

mitochondrial support nacetyl

N-acetyl Cysteine (NAC)
NAC is a potent antioxidant that is essential for the formation of glutathione inside cells. NAC supports the immune system that can inhibit cytokine cascades, which are inflammatory messengers stimulated by microbes. NAC also supports nerve tissue and liver function. NAC also supports collagen and respiratory organs.

mitochondrial support alpha lipoic acid

Alpha Lipoic Acid
A potent antioxidant with the unique property of being both water and fat soluble. Therefore, it is easily absorbed and works with antioxidants already present inside cells to support cells in their fight against free radical damage. It also supports liver function and nerve function.

mitochondrial support vitamin c

Vitamin C
Vitamin C provides almost too many functions to list, but most important are its antioxidant properties. When combined with other antioxidants, vitamin C offers a high degree of protection. Vitamin C is an essential collagen supporter. Vitamin C also offers support to the immune system for its antibacterial and antiviral properties.

Combining the proper quantity and quality of NAC, lipoic acid, and vitamin C supports glutathione levels in the body.

mitochondrial support CoenzymeQ10

Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10)
CoQ10 is a key component of the machinery responsible for producing energy within the mitochondria. CoQ10 also inhibits free radical damage to cellular and mitochondrial membranes. The highest concentrations in the body are found in the heart, liver, kidney and pancreas.

Take 3 capsules twice daily, or as recommended by your healthcare provider.

Was sensitive to this supplement
Patricia Dill 06-01-2015
My daughter is on the Restore Program but she had to discontinue this one supplement due to experiencing heartburn. She stopped it, tried again and it occurred with just one capsule. Dr. Rawls suggested that some people are very sensitive to Alpha lipoic acid and to try glutathione and NAC separately. When we did that there was not a program at all with heartburn. Wanted to share for others who are navigating sensitivities. I still highly recommend Vital Plan but go slow and ask questions as you go and they will help you.
