One of the key ingredients in Joint Care is a highly absorbable, curcumin-containing extract of turmeric called Acumin™. Curcumin has become very popular in recent years for its myriad health benefits, however new research shows that supplementing with isolated curcumin alone can have limited benefit due to its poor absorption and rapid excretion by the human body.
The Acumin in Joint Care helps counter these shortcomings. It offers a complete turmeric matrix of more than 200 turmeric compounds including curcuminoids (45% minimum), turmerone oil, polysaccharides, turmerin protein, and natural fibers. By maintaining the natural matrix of compounds found in turmeric, the Acumin extract delivers the synergy of curcuminoids and other turmeric compounds found in whole turmeric, but at a 25 times higher concentration than the whole-herb kitchen spice.
This synergy translates to better bioavailability of curcumin in the body. In fact, Acumin has been shown to be 10 times more bioavailable than other products containing 95% curcuminoids.
Because Acumin’s curcuminoids are so readily absorbed, it alleviates the need for phospholipid turmeric preparations or supplementing with black pepper extract (also known as piperine) to increase bioavailability. Plus, you gain the benefit of those 200+ other turmeric compounds at the same time. The ultimate result: Impressive support for joint health, a healthy response to inflammation, cell health, immune health, musculoskeletal health, cardiovascular health, and neurological health.
NEM® (Eggshell membrane) promotes joint comfort and supports cartilage and has been found to act more quickly and effectively than most combinations of glucosamine and chondroitin historically used for joint supplementation. Instead of being isolated compounds such as glucosamine and chondroitin, eggshell membrane is composed of a natural matrix of nutrients: protein and peptides, including collagens, glucosaminoglycans (found in joint tissue) and calcium, a valuable mineral cofactor in multiple bio-enzymatic reactions. The presence of these nutrients as part of a natural matrix works synergistically to help ensure that they can reach joint tissue.
Boswellia, another key active ingredient, has been valued for centuries for its properties that help support the body’s natural healing systems and is a tried-and-true companion herb used synergistically with turmeric.
